Population of Alicante

The population of Alicante in 2006 was above 320 000 inhabitants, where around 15% are foreign, mainly from South American countriea who migrated to Spain in recent years. These immigrants, along with a number of migrants from African countries such as Morocco, have brought a number of social problems connected to labour policies, as well as difficulties in maintaining good social benefits politics.
